East Chapel Hill Congress
Sunday, October 15th, 2006Hey!
Anyone going to East Chapel Hill in Student Congress has the oppurtunity to submit Legislation. This is a great way to practice making a bill/resolution, and it automatically gives you a guaranteed speech! I urge everyone to take hold of this oppurtunity. Please give Mr. Kline the completed legislation by Monday, Oct 23.
Thanks,
Herschel
Sign Up For Email Lists
Saturday, October 14th, 2006In order to better facilitate communication, ESPECIALLY with fringe members and NEW members of the team, I have created YAHOO groups for our team and our events…so if I need to email everyone in LD, I can send ONE email out to ONE email address and they will all get it…its great! We need to make this BIG, pass it on to everyone you got, post it, and tell newbies about it (if one of you could make a handout to give to new kids, that would rule…)
OK, there is ONE main group for EVERYONE on the team. To join it, send a BLANK email from an email account you wish (you can register any and all you want by sending from each account) to:
mpspeechanddebateteam-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Once you do, you will get a confirmation email back which requires you to confirm your address. THEN, if you want to send a message to EVERYONE in the group, send an email to
mpspeechanddebateteam@yahoogroups.com
OK…
THEN, I created groups for EACH of the events we have. Each group has an email name. To subscribe to that group, send a blank email to
emailname-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
And then, to use the group, once registered, you can send an email to that group with
Here are the email name for each group
Lincoln Douglas Debate: mpld
Public Forum Debate: mppf
Congressional Debate: mpcongress
Extemp: mpextemp
OO: mporiginaloratory
Interp: mpinterp
So, for example, if I want to join the extemp mailing list, I send a blank email to:
mpextemp-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
Then, once I am registered, I can send emails to everyone on the list with the following email address
If you have questions, PLEASE let me know…let’s encourage EVERYONE to get registered ASAP…
Attention Parents!
Thursday, October 12th, 2006Parents volunteers are needed to judge for Myers Park on October 21 at Bob Jones. We have 70 students registered, and only 2 judges. This is a great opportunity for those interested to learn how to judge. We are also going to need a LOT of judges for the CFL Qualifier on January 20. If interested for either of these, please contact Mr. West.
